R1P2D23 - I saw a loss and my fav meat seasonings

So I stepped on the scale this morning very nervous given the gain I had before. I lost 0.8! So, back down to 202.2 again. Let's see what tmrw AM says. Weighing and recording all of my food every day has really helped me see how close I am getting to 500. I am now very sure there were days before than I was too far over that 500 calorie limit. Doing beef and chicken on the same day seems almost impossible b/c they are both higher calorie protein options. So, I do chicken and fish one day then beef and shrimp the next to help spread it out. I am even cutting  up and weighing my apples upfront so I make sure I don't go over. Apples are high in calories! If you want to follow my meal plan, here is the link on SparkPeople: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_tracker.asp?id=SABRINAP11&dte=5%2F1%2F2012. I am not tracking the seasonings and yes, I know they can add a few calories. I am just trying to do something quick/easy that I know I will actually keep up with!

While I was thinking about it, I wanted to share some of my favorite seasonings have been for my protein.

So the seasoning I use on my shrimp, chicken, fish, beef LOL is the below. I use it to make beef taco meat, sprinkle it over shrimp or fish before baking in foil, etc.

4 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (or less if you don't want it as spicy)
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp paprika
2 Tbsp ground cumin
4 tsp black pepper

I mix that up and store it in a tupperware. For making ground beef taco meat, I use probably 3 Tbsp of the mixture with 1/2-1 cup of water in with the beef. For the shrimp and fish, I just sprinkle it over the top before baking it (to taste). Delicious!

The other seasoning is for beef. When I grill hamburgers, I mix some in and I also put it over skillet steak (like 3-4 servings at a time) and put it in the crock pot with a can (like a soup can size) of low sodium beef broth on low for 1.5-2 hours.

1/2 cup dehydrated minced onions
1 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Mix that up and store in a tupperware as well.
